That is good, what it’s supposed to do. When was the coolant replaced. Over time the additives get used up. Fresh coolant will have fresh additive package. Replace the coolant filter as well.

Was running with 45k load on about 15 mile stretch of highway and noticed that water temp is about 175-180 and oil temperature is 230. Even when fan kicks in at about 205 oil temp is still the same. WebJul 26, 2014 · The issue is water pump. 90% sure one that one. Guessing your motor is between the yrs of 2007-2014. The fins in the pump are not flowing the coolant, they either broke or are chipped. Some pumps even use plastic fins in the cummins pump, horrible design causes lots of these issues.
